Yak Mission Trip Info and Pack List!

First off we'll need copies of all forms including our Registration/Medical Release/Commitment Form as well as Youthworks Youth Covenant and Release form as well as a copy of your insurance card!

These forms can be found on the right side of our www.hccfuel.com website.

We will be commissioning during the 9am service This Sunday so if you can make it please do! As you arrive you may drop off your bags neatly inside the Ed. Building and can also drop off the rest of your paperwork (we can make copies of your insurance cards then as well) and take final payments.

After the service you'll be free to head home or grab lunch, just be back by 1pm so we can head out!

At the drop off, Jen will have info cards with address's on all the places we will be staying and contact info of all the adult leaders so please remember to pick them up (we'll also keep some at the front office).

Here's the Info Letter that was passed out at our last meeting:
And here's the pack list:

  1. Clothes for 7 days and 6 nights. I can't stress enough about packing LIGHT! Luggage space will be tight so please pack conservatively.
  2. Work clothes for 2 days in painting (including closed toed shoes). If you have nothing you wouldn't mind getting paint on I suggest a Goodwill run!
  3. Sun Block, chapstick, Hat, Sunglasses. If you are the least bit sensitive to sunlight, keep this trip fun by not getting burned! Temperatures will be in the 80s and 90s with very few clouds.
  4. A light jacket or sweatshirt for the evenings.
  5. Swimsuit (One piece only!) and towel. These will also be used to shower in. We will shower like last time at the local pool next door. Shower shoes (cheap flip flops) are recommended.
  6. Toiletries as well as any medications.
  7. Sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping pad. The sleeping pad doesn't have to be much (cheap foam ones can be purchased at Big 5 or Target) but the floors at the church can be a little hard!
  8. Bible and Pen!
  9. Spending money. This is optional, there are tshirts there for sale where the proceeds go to a good cause as well as a little corner mart we make field trips to for some snacks during the week.
  10. Flashlight
  11. Water bottle (or even better, a Camel Pak)
  12. Camera (optional)
What works best is usually a big duffel bag with everything (sleeping bag, etc) inside.

What not to bring:
Personal Electronic Devices like iPods/gaming (things that use headphones) due to them being Anti-Social, Weapons, Drugs, Alcohol, Pets, Expensive Personal Items, bad attitudes, or miniature statues.

Cell phones can come but we ask that they are left with leaders to keep distractions to a minimum.

We will be attempting to update our blog everyday as well as our twitter feed which can be found in 3 locations:
  1. The right side of our blog at www.hccfuel.com
  2. www.twitter.com/hccfuel
  3. by texting "follow hccfuel" (without quotation marks) to the phone number 40404. By doing this all of our tweets will be texted right to your cell phone! We will text travel/location/photos, etc. (And to turn them off text "Leave hccfuel" to the same number.)
