Group Nite!

For Group Nite's we start off playing some games and then break into smaller groups where we go through a short Bible study series.

Our small groups will finish a two-week series (tonight and two weeks ago) on the topic of worship, and this second lesson focuses on honoring God through everything we do, not just through part of our lives or only through music.

We will look at Romans 12:1-2, a passage that talks about how we should be living sacrifices to God.

IIT316!

This Wednesday is IIT316!

What's that you ask?  Well a night where we play some games and then grab a Bible (we have a bunch here but if you remember, bring yours from home!) and dig into a passage to figure out how it could apply to our lives.

The strange name stands for 2 Timothy 3:16 which says, "All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness."

If that's true, then we should be able to meet up later and find out how a talking Donkey from a book in the Old Testament could be relevant to us today...and we will!

So bring yourselves, your friends and your Bible if you got one and we'll see you soon!

-------------------------------

Gleanings alert!

We have a just a few spots left for our mission trip so if anyone was still interested in going, please contact Jen pronto because we are just starting our next big fund raiser and we want you to be a part of it!

There will be Rent-a-Kid forms to pick up at Youth Group for all those going on the trip!

-------------------------------

And Easter is coming up!  Our church will have services at 8, 9:30 and 11am, please come and join us!

Group Nite!

For Group Nite's we start off playing some games and then break into smaller groups where we go through a short Bible study series.

Our small groups will begin a two-week series (tonight and on 3/27) on the topic of worship, and this first lesson focused on placing God at the center of our lives because He is the only one worth our worship and adoration.

We will look at Deuteronomy 6:1-9, a passage that reveals God’s desire for his followers—people whose lives would be defined by full commitment and devotion to him. In verse 5, we learn that God wants us to love him with all of our heart and all of our soul and all of our mind—every part of who we are. This passage is full of the type of love and passion that we can have for the God who created us. The words are powerful and meaningful and truly explain the meaning of worship: putting God in the center of our lives and putting God first in our soul, our mind, and our heart.

Parents, here are some questions you might want to use this week as you talk with your student about our lesson:

·         How do you think God feels if we choose to worship something or someone else, instead of worshiping Him?
·         What are some common obstacles teenagers face to obeying God and loving God fully?
·         What are some ways you can show God your devotion this week—including through your attitudes and actions toward other people?

Fort Wars and Confirmation

Wednesday is our crazy Fort Wars night!

Bring whatever supplies (your parents will let you bring) to build your 'typical' home fort (ie: sheets, cushions, rope, tape, cardboard, etc).  You may want to arrive a few minutes early and don't forget to BRING your friends!  You may want to ask your parents if they can give them a ride to youth group.

We'll spend the first part of the night building our forts in groups divided by grades.  Then we'll play a few rounds "warring" with each other using foam darts!  It'll be a night of silliness that you and your friends won't want to miss.

On a completely different note, our Middle School Sunday School class has been going through a Confirmation Lesson every week.  However, 7-8th grade students who have been going to the Sunday School class and would like to finish the school year being Confirmed should consider filling out our Confirmation packet.  If they do, we will pair them up with an adult leader who will meet with them a few times a month to encourage, and help answer questions.  The registration can be found by clicking here or on our website: www.hccfuel.com.  Direct any questions to Mike Stelle or Jen Easton.
