Cancelled due to snow! Who'd of guessed?

So we've had to make the executive decision to cancel youth group tonight!

I know you were all looking forward to hanging out together so we'll try to make it up to you by having a combined Middle School/High School Xmas Party between services this Sunday Dec. 21st).

We'll make some ornaments, play some games, eat some cookies and drink hot chocolate. How's that sound?

See you then! And have a safe and snow-filled fun afternoon!

Small Group Xmas Parties!

Tomorrow we will have our last fuel youthgroup of 2008!

They will be Small Group Parties split between the Guys and the Girls!

Girls will meet at the HCC, normal time and will be hanging out and making Tree Ornaments (one to keep and one to give away)!

Please bring $3 to cover supply costs! Also bring any extra decorations you may want to use from home, a friend and a snack if you like!

Guys will be meeting at Ross's house during regular time!

We will be hanging out, playing games and also have a white elephant gift exchange. The gift must be something consumable (something you like to eat) and don't forget to wrap it! If you spend money there is a $5 limit.

Call Jen at the Church if you have any questions (or better yet his cell if you have the number!)

Winter Retreat forms will also be available tomorrow at the parties and also on this site! There will be early registration incentives including one before 2009! Check back tomorrow!

Poinsettias!

So this afternoon we will be filled to the brink with Poinsettias!

You know, the ones that you sold to fundraise your mission trip?

SO, if you did sell them, you need to get down to the church this afternoon and pick them up so that you can deliver them over the next few days!

*I just want to say thanks for all your help getting those pictures taken last night for the Roadtrip to Nowhere!  They turned out great and I will be working on them for the next few weeks putting that calendar together!

*Also, our Winter Retreat Registration will be coming out this next week!  So make sure you are at Mass Hangout for the 10th and pick one up!

*And finally, I uploaded a quick video of the guys smallgroup night where we did "Produceball" here it is:

Roadtrip to Nowhere!

Hey all!
Tomorrow we will be having our "Roadtrip to Nowhere" night!

Two weeks ago we had you all vote for which locations you all would like to go to and I've tabulated the results:

-Hawaii
-India
-Egypt
-Mt. Rushmore
-Paris
-Mexico
-Japan (Sumo dohyo)
-Disneyland
-Western (Somewhere in Texas)
-Antarctica
-NYC (Statue of Liberty)
-Bus broken down
-Easter Island (Place that has those huge stone heads)

So to remind you, what we plan on doing is taking pictures of
our youth group with a white background (try not to where white) and later photoshopping them into backgrounds of the above places!  Here's an example of our staff going on a "virtual" trip to the original Starbucks in Seattle:

Here's the picture we took of ourselves at the church:

Here's the picture of Starbucks we found online:
And these are the two photoshopped together!
So if you have anything you'd like to bring to make those places above look more authentic (notice our starbucks cups in our hands) like Mickey Mouse ears for Disneyland, an 'I Love NY' shirt, Board Shorts, Ski Jacket, cowboy hat, etc.  Please bring them down!

After photoshopping them together we will make them into calendars and have them available in January!  So make sure you're here so that you can be in it!!!

NO Fuel this week but come to the service and movie instead!

So no Youth Group this Wednesday so if you show up at 5:43pm...it'll be cold outside!

But I do hope you still come later that night!  HCC will be having it's Thanksgiving Eve Service @7pm which is a real neat service for the whole fam.

Afterward we will have our annual "Unofficial Movie Night".  This year we are going to see "Bolt 3D" at the Galaxy Uptown Theatre, 9:40pm showing.  (Yep!  A 3D movie this year!)

Here's the trailer:

Now a few things about why we call it "Unnoffical".  It's become a tradition that a bunch of people from the HCC Youth Group go to the family friendly movie after the Thanksgiving Eve Service.  It's unnoffical because we won't be collecting money for it, buying tickets for everyone, saving seats, having students fill out release forms or arranging rides to/from the theater.

That said, it's a ton of fun for the whole family!  I suggest you get there early and/or buy your tickets ahead of time.  We usually have anywhere from 70-100+ people associated with HCC watch the movie together!  Current Jr/Sr High Students, their friends and families, even former students back from college!

So hope to see everyone at both!

World Wide Feast!

Tonight we will be having a Feast of World-Wide Proportions!

Bring $5 and your friends because there will be enough food for everyone!

REMINDER:  No Fuel next week!  Instead grab your family and join us at our Thanksgiving Eve Service at 7pm!

Afterwards we'll be our annual "Unofficial Movie Night!"  This year it will be at the Galaxy Uptown theater and we will be seeing the new movie Bolt!  (We'll be posting the time of the movie later.)

Youth Group Just Got A Little Cooler...

So tonight is Mass Hangout and Mark Mulhern and the Hampton Family have a little surprise for the youth group that will make Wednesday nights this winter a whole lot more fun!  I'll give you a hint: it has to do with carpet and billiard balls...

Anyway like I just said, Mass Hangout is tonight and it will be filled with just a bunch of games and hangout time for you, your friends and your leaders!  So come on down and bring a friend!

Next week will be our "Small Group" night.  We'll break into two groups (guys and girls) for the night.  Both will meet at the church, girls will be baking cookies for the staff and writing cards to the White Family and guys will meet here and leave to play "produceball."  Guys, if you don't know what produceball is, just wear some clothes you don't mind getting messy and bring your favorite baseball bat!

And finally we will end the month like we started it, with another Pizza & Praise night!  So don't forget to bring $3 on the 29th to help pay for dinner and be ready to sing!

Also remember that we have our annual Pumkin Patch Party on the 31st.  Please sign up to help run the games for all the kids!
